Tony Visconti produces the Stylophone Orchestra
11 September 2019
The first session of the new term, on 10 September 2019, had Tony Visconti producing the Kingston University Stylophone Orchestra, with Rob Plummer engineering.
Two pieces were recorded. One was an arrangement of Space Oddity, arranged and conducted by Leah Kardos. The other was an original written for television, under wraps at the time.
Dubreq, who make the Stylophone, came to the session and brought instruments with them, including some prototypes.
The orchestra is open to anyone at Kingston. Its members include students from the popular music and music technology degrees, students from other courses, and alumni.
